If there is one day that embodies all things Spring, it’s Easter. Floral prints, outdoor activities, and an emphasis on brunch make this holiday the epitome the season. We already know Austin thrives in brunch, and Austinites consistently take advantage of the copious sunshine by exploring the many fun things to do outside. In other words, this holiday has Austin’s name all over it. There are many different ways to tackle Easter, and Austin offers a myriad of ways to spend the day.

Mattie’s at Green Pastures

If you’re a one-stop-shop kind of family, this is the place for you. Not only is there an (assumingly delicious) brunch from 11 a.m.–2 p.m., but Mattie’s also offers an Easter egg hunt at 12:30 for the kids, or the inner kid in you. Because no Austin event would be complete without live music, Mattie’s will be featuring performances throughout the entire event. Admission is set at $75 for adults and $25 for children (under 12), for the complete Easter package.

Dai Due Butcher Shop

Austin even has a home-body option for those who host their own Easters. Dai Due offers pick-up options for all kinds of meats, pastries, and charcuterie all of Easter weekend, so you can plan ahead. Even open on Easter Sunday from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. for last minute additions, Dai Due’s food for pick-up adds an excellent touch to your family’s Easter.

Goodall’s Kitchen at Hotel Ella

Easter brunch is a necessity, and Goodall’s Kitchen understands that. Be careful what you order, though (hopefully not rabbit) because there will be a visit from the Easter Bunny himself. To add to the excitement, guests are also invited to enjoy a complimentary petting zoo after they eat. Priced at $68 for adults and $25 for children, Hotel Ella provides a beautifully prepared meal complemented by some of the animal attention we all crave.

Jo’s Annual Easter Pet Parade & Costume Contest

Celebrating its 18th year, Jo’s Coffee on South Congress is hosting an all-ages Easter event, featuring a dog costume contest, with proceeds benefiting Austin Pets Alive! There are also free activities for the whole family to enjoy like face painting, local vendors, live music, and of course, the Easter Bunny. This event takes place Saturday, April 15th, so what better way to kick off Easter weekend than with a parade of adorable dogs in costumes.

No matter how you plan to spend your Easter, Austin has you covered. We hope you all enjoy this beautiful Spring day of friends, family, and food. We would love to hear what you and your family are doing this Easter, so let us know! Happy Easter, y’all!
