We’re already feeling the summer heat here in Austin, but that’s not stopping us from soaking in the sun and enjoying the outdoor activities that our city has to offer! Here’s what our daring HMG team will be doing this summer when we’re not working hard in the office (or hardly working– hey, we gotta enjoy our summer too!):
1. Zip-line at Lake Travis
If you are looking for adventure then prepare to be in for a thrill when experiencing the longest zip line in Texas! For three hours, you will be mesmerized by the breathtaking views of Lake Travis and the Texas Hill Country. This adventure of a lifetime is a must-do this summer.
2. Hike Mount Bonnell
If you haven’t hiked Mount Bonnell yet, make this summer the time to do it! To avoid the strong daytime sun, we recommend an evening hike to catch the sunset over Lake Austin.
3. Peruse around ATX on electric bikes
Whether you’re in the mood to take a foodie tour or just to explore ATX on your own, electric bikes are the way to go. Now, you can ride through the hills of Austin with no worries of being tired or catching a breath because the electric bikes will take you up in no time!
4. Float the river
If you haven’t floated the river yet, are you really from Austin?! Floating the river is a Texas tradition, and it is the perfect way to cool off from the Texas heat, enjoy an ice cold brew, and relax while tubing down the river.
5. Fly board on Lake Austin
Since its inception in 2011, fly boarding has become the latest trend for all thrill-seekers out there. The flyboard is similar to a powered wakeboard, with the ability to go underwater and in the air. It is very simple to learn how to fly board, and before you know it, you’ll be swimming like a fish or flying like a bird in no time!
6. Rock Climb the Seismic Wall at the Barton Creek Greenbelt
The Barton Creek Greenbelt is filled with cool spots all along the strip to either jump off cliffs, take a dip in the creek, or in this case, rock climb! The Seismic Wall, also known as Maggies Wall, is a popular location for adventurous Austinites to get active and enjoy the beauty of the Greenbelt.
Take this summer to do something a little out of your comfort zone and enjoy the beautiful sights that the Austin has to offer!
