Mark your calendars, because we’ve compiled a list of five Fall festivals this month, where you can eat, drink, play, and even immerse yourself into other cultures while doing it. All events are kid friendly and some are free to enter!

Barton Hill Farms presents Fall Festival & Pumpkin Patch

Most weekends this October, you can gather with friends and family for lots of fun fall activities all in one place. There will be a pumpkin patch, corn maze, farm animals, backyard games, face paintings, live music, food and drinks, and more.

Tickets vary from $13.95 to $15.95

Bat City Artisans presents Halloween Market

Bat City Artisans’ Halloween Market will have lots of witchy items, vintage costumes, art, palm & tarot readings, halloween henna, & even some scarewear for the pups. There will also be some frightfully delicious food specials from cajun fave Baton Creole drink specials.

36th Annual Viva La Vida Parade & Festival

Mexic-Arte Museum’s Viva La Vida Fest is Austin’s largest and longest-running Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival. The festival features a Grand Procession, the Education Pavilion with hands-on art activities and artist demos, and a celebration with traditional foods, local artist and retail booths, a low-rider exhibition, live music and performances throughout the day.

Halloween By Design presents Classic Monster Bash

Attend this one-of-a-kind immersive Halloween experience and fundraising celebration inspired by iconic monsters of the silver screen. Guests will be transported into a spook-tacular world of classic horror films designed by renowned Hollywood set decorator Bart Brown and local interior designers.

There will be live music from Kelly Willis & Lurleen Ladd, scratch-made dishes and craft cocktails from notable Austin chefs, aura readings, casino gaming, a live auction, a fantasy makeup booth and plenty of Instagrammable moments, all to help raise funds and awareness for four Central Texas non-profit organizations.

16th Annual Austin Oktoberfest

The most famous German celebration has been happening for over 200 years.  Located in the heart of the Red River Cultural District where you will find one of Austin’s best kept secrets, the German Free School: a historical building and terraced gardens to enjoy the afternoon of all things German and Gemütlichkeit, with performances by Walburg Boys, Austin Polka Band, Off the Grid and more. This family friendly event offers a lot of kids activities. And of course German food and drinks.

When: October 12, 2019
