If We Were Olympians…

As one of the most iconic and talked about sporting events spirals to a close, the gold winning team at HMG Creative imagined what it would be like to be their favorite Olympic athlete. Each athlete chosen by our team members reflects on the personalities that we have in the office. No person chose the same athlete and only two chose the same sport. As our favorites are announced, think of who you would want to be if you had a chance to be an Olympian.

imgresThe GOAT of the office, our founder, James Trumbly, naturally chose Michael Phelps as his spirit Olympian. Both Trumbly and Phelps can relate to their passions and work ethic. Although Trumbly may not be the most medaled Olympian in the world, his hard work has launched HMG Creative in the Austin market place and has won several awards for the company’s performances. If there were ever a chance that James could be in the Olympics, Michael Phelps would be a perfect choice for him.

imgres-1If Ryan Johnston could be one athlete, he would be the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt. The face of Gatorade is one of the most dedicated and hardworking athletes in the sport of Track and Field. Like Bolt, Johnston is not easily setback. Ryan is a powerhouse on our team. Taking on a new role in the office, shows how dedicated Ryan is to HMG Creative. His constant perseverance to learn and grow with the company makes him the Usain Bolt of our gold medal team.

imgres-2Keeping the trend of amazing Olympians, our intern Kate Gothing dreams to be an Olympic gymnast like Simone Biles. Not only have they both been doing gymnastics since they were youngsters and practicing on gymnastics equipment at home, they have also won gold in past competitions. Kate may not be a world champion or an Olympic gold medalist, but she is a three-time Massachusetts State Champion. Three-time world champion and three-time state champion are basically the same thing right? Simone is a bubbly person outside of competition, but serious and strong when she needs to be. Kate is the same way, and that is why she is perfect to take over Simone Biles’s place.

strug19a-1-webAlthough Johnny Jeffers’s pick is not in the 2016 Olympics, he can’t tear his dreams away from being the 1996 Olympic gold medalist, Kerri Strug. Kerri’s determination to win gold for USA after breaking her ankle on her first vault in team finals greatly reflects on the same determination Johnny has when it comes to projects at HMG Creative. Even though he is not a small 18-year-old girl, Johnny would make a great Olympic gymnast.

la-sp-kerri-walsh-jennings-20150820Melissa Trumbly loves watching the Olympics and one of her favorites is Kerri Walsh-Jennings. Not only has Jennings been in four Olympics, she has been able to win gold with more than one partner. Both Melissa and Kerri are hard working women and are loved by many.

ManuIsThinking_0Both Manu Ginobili and Ian Wilson have a love for Texas. Manu, who plays for the San Antonio Spurs has experienced incredible success, just like Ian. With all their success, they both remain grounded with great personalities. Ian is definitely the baller of the office!

051015-Golf-Rickie-Fowler-pi-ssm.vresize.1200.675.high.98Last but not least, our newest intern Maxx Wright dreams of being the next big golfer. Golf is a new event in the Olympics, but that doesn’t stop Maxx from watching Rickie Fowler year round. Rickie connects with the younger generation and gives Maxx a role model to look up to.

Now that we have established our love for Olympians and shown that we have the attitudes and work ethic to make a gold medal team, who would you choose as your spirit Olympian?
