At HMG Creative, we are committed to giving back to the community and finding ways to help our fellow Texans. Our five-year partnership with OneStar Foundation has given us the opportunity to work with an organization that embodies those values, and we are proud to be a part of their mission to strengthen communities within Texas. In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, now more than ever, our state is in need of unity. OneStar Foundation, Rebuild Texas Fund, and VolunteerTX are working together to rally the people of Texas to rebuild all that was lost.

OneStar Foundation:

In 2009, Texas passed legislation dedicated to bridging the gap between nonprofits and the government in order to address social issues. OneStar Foundation was created as an official government organization with the purpose to build relationships between nonprofits and the government in order to address social problems. At the very core, OneStar Foundation’s sole purpose is to strengthen organization’s capacities to work with the government to achieve their common goals of improving the quality of life in Texas. As the need for social services continues to grow in our state, OneStar Foundation ensures that individuals, private businesses, and the government continue to work together as committed and effective partners. OneStar Foundation is currently working vigorously with communities struck by Hurricane Harvey with the help of Rebuild Texas Fund and VolunteerTX.

Rebuild Texas Fund:

Housed within OneStar Foundation, Rebuild Texas Fund is a community led effort to raise money for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Big or small, Rebuild Texas is committed to stabilizing families in all communities affected by the disaster. The money raised will support community partners in four focus areas: health and housing, education and child care, workforce and transportation, and capital for rebuilding small businesses. The Michael and Susan Dell Foundation has partnered with Rebuild Texas to raise $100 million and will match all donations up to $10 million. VolunteerTX:

Also managed by OneStar Foundation, VolunteerTX is designed to connect both native Texans and out-of-state individuals with volunteer service opportunities available in all communities throughout the state. VolunteerTX provides resources to state and local officials, provides volunteer information to the public and manages all volunteers during times of emergency and disaster. In times of devastation, it is imperative we come together as a community and get involved in as many ways as we can. As a long-time partner of OneStar Foundation, we have used our expertise to help them disseminate information to the public through their website. HMG Creative strategically developed OneStar Foundation’s website, integrating Rebuild Texas Fund and VolunteerTX, with the purpose to make all information easily accessible. Most recently, we worked with OneStar Foundation in integrating a “donate” button for Rebuild Texas Fund’s website in order to collect funds to benefit communities devastated by Hurricane Harvey. As Texans, we have great pride in our state, and it is crucial that we come together and show the world, and mother nature, Don’t Mess With Texas.
