The woman that resembles Christina Applegate and brightens our day every other Tuesday not only helps HMG Creative, but also manages to be an excellent mother to two adorable children. Meet our wonderful bookkeeper!

Melissa Trumbly has been with HMG Creative since 2003! From Temecula, California, she’s a Cali girl loving life down in the Lone Star state. Before moving to Texas, she studied business at California State University San Marcos with a focus in High Technology Management. Melissa is now married to James Trumbly, Founder of HMG Creative, and together they have two wonderful children. When it comes to working with entrepreneurs in the business world, Melissa is no stranger. From the age of 14 she began helping her family with their business and from there her passion for business began. She’s an amazing asset to the HMG Creative team and without her help, we wouldn’t be where we are today!

We wanted to get to know her a little better, so we asked her these four questions:

What was your favorite toy growing up?

• Not really a toy, but I had my baby blanket up until I was almost married, and then it mysteriously disappeared. I still use a satin pillow that resembles it and can’t sleep without it.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

• Popcorn, chocolate, going to the spa and The Bachelor (or Bachelorette)

Why did you choose to work for HMG Creative?  

• Well, I was dating James at the time, when he started the company. It was known as HomeTown NorthCounty at the time and our business model was quite different than what it’s evolved into today. I wanted to help him on his way to success in this new venture so I literally went door to door at select businesses throughout North County San Diego and sold advertising packages for our online information portal. This was serious cold calling and not really my thing, but I was willing and wanted to see our little business succeed. We still have some of our first clients today that use our services.

What superpower would you want?  

• I would love to be able to stall time. It would be nice to not be stressed about being on time or waking up a toddler from a nap or to just savor a good moment!

Whether she is indulging in a new season of The Bachelor, taking care of the kiddos or managing our cash flow, Melissa is always on top of her game. So thank you Melissa, we love having you on the HMG Creative Team!
