We’ve all been touched by the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales, entranced by superstar endorsers like Britney Spears, and become hooked on brands like Apple through futuristic imagery. The biggest game of the year means the greatest chance to reach millions of viewers between plays. As one of the most important opportunities for marketers to reach large audiences and create buzz about their products, Super Bowl spots have long been an integral institution of the game itself. Super Bowl LII will not disappoint, and we have an early look at some of the most anticipated advertisements to watch out for this Sunday.
Skittles
It’s safe to say that Skittles is changing the game, by taking the notion of a tease to a new level. Skittles has decided to only show their Super Bowl ad to one dedicated fan, Marcos Menendez of California. The rest of the public will have to tune into Youtube to watch the teenager’s reaction, while they wonder what Skittles could have possibly created this year.
Pepsi: Doritos Blaze and Mountain Dew Ice
Peter Dinklage and Morgan Freeman go head to head, with the help of Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliot, in a battle between two new Pepsi products, Doritos Blaze and Mountain Dew Ice. The balance of contrast and chemistry makes this ad perfect for PepsiCo to feature two of its premier brands at once.

Amazon: Alexa
In the past few years, Amazon has made some giant leaps. Since the arrival of Alexa in late 2014, the company has quickly taken a dominant position in smart-home technology by producing one of society’s most recognizable chatbots. Featuring some of pop culture’s biggest celebrities, Alexa gains stardom when she loses her voice and users discover a new sound while communicating with their Echo applications.
Sprint: Evelyn
In an effort to promote the unbeatable abilities of Sprint services, the cutting edge robot, Evelyn, is enlisted to learn how to use technology like a human. Two teasers reveal her performing popular tasks like taking selfies and brunch photos with the message “See what else she’s learned. 02.04.18.”
You should also expect to see Stella Artois, Kia and Kraft rolling out ads that make a statement this year. As marketing continues to focus on the role of connection (rather than promotion), we are sure to see plenty of uniquely engaging, audience-centered commercials on Sunday. Not to worry, Bud Light’s #dillydilly will return, and Hyundai’s heartwarming vignettes of military family reunions will be included. Tune into NBC on Sunday, February 4th, at 5:30 CST to watch and decide your favorite ads of Super Bowl LII.
