This coming weekend marks the fifth annual Austin Food & Wine Festival! Experts in the food and wine industry from across the nation will be returning to Austin to share their knowledge through demos, showcases and tastings. However, there is more than just the delicious food and wine pairings that are served at the event. Here’s what you need to know about Austin Food & Wine Festival:
Hi there! My name is Kate Gothing, and I am the newest social media and marketing intern at HMG Creative. I am overly thrilled to join such an amazing team and learn from each and every one of the team members. Currently, I am entering my senior year as an advertising student at the University of Texas at Austin (wow–how time flies!). I was born and raised in a small town outside of Boston, Massachusetts, but have always dreamed of moving to Texas. Unfortunately, I have not been in Texas for my entire college career. For my freshman year of college, I attended DePaul University in Chicago, as a marketing student. After the Polar Vortex of 2014, I decided it was time to move down south, and soak up some much needed sun. Since transferring to UT Austin my sophomore year, I have not regretted it. I mean who could, in such a great city with amazing queso, tacos and BBQ?

However, for the rest of us, it can be a huge hindrance, as traffic quadruples, Uber surge prices are at its highest, and the large crowds make it extremely difficult to get into the downtown area. Just three weeks before the big day, nonprofits from around the city are preparing for Amplify Austin– a 24-hour online event that allows for the Austin community to come together over the act of donating to local nonprofits. This year, over 600 nonprofits will be participating in Amplify Austin. While it may be very overwhelming to pick and choose which one of these amazing nonprofits to donate to, we’ve narrowed down our picks for each category of your choosing.
With the holiday season already upon us, the team at HMG wanted to take a little time out to reflect on this past year and share what we have to be thankful for (a lot!).
