Welcome Our New Senior Visual Designer, Chris Cortez!

We asked Chris to tell us about himself

I am a Texas native through and through! I grew up and spent most of my life in sunny Corpus Christi, but in 2015 I was itching for a change of scenery and relocated to Austin. My design career kick-started during an internship way back in 2011, where I was thrown into the deep end and got my hands dirty working on everything from print to digital to broadcast media. I must’ve done something right because they ended up offering me a full-time position, and the rest is history!

Welcome Our New Intern, Sydney Dwyer!

We asked Sydney to tell us about herself

Hey everyone!

My name is Sydney Dwyer and I’m thrilled to be HMG Creative’s new intern. I’m originally from Newfoundland, Canada, the most eastern point of North America, but have spent most of my life living in Houston Texas, just about as southern as you can get! I currently reside in the amazing city of Austin and I’m a Sophomore at The University of Texas McCombs School of Business studying Marketing. Continue…

With the holiday season kicking off this week, we’re looking forward to the feasting, traveling, shopping, and laughing to come in the days ahead. But before the holiday hustle and bustle is in full swing, the HMG crew wanted to take a minute to acknowledge some of our favorite reasons to be thankful this past year.

Get to Know Paul, HMG’s New Visual Designer

This month, HMG welcomed our newest team member, Paul Capetola – visual designer and creative extraordinaire. Paul brings tremendous talent to our team with over 8 years of design and development experience, and we’re thrilled to have him on board. Per usual with new HMGers, we asked a few “get-to-know-you” questions so we could all learn a little more about him. Here’s what he had to say: Continue…

What We’re Thankful For

The holiday rush is officially here and our schedules are about to amp up. All the shopping, cooking, decorating, and even some parties are sure to keep us busy for the next couple of months. With all the hustle and bustle of the season, it is important to take a step back and remember the true spirit of the holidays. We were able to catch up with some of our team here at HMG Creative and had them reflect on what they are thankful for, at work and at home.

#TeamTuesday – Maxx Wright

He may only be here for a short amount of time, but we still consider him part of the team! HMG Creative would like to introduce our new intern Maxx Wright.

Maxx is entering his senior year of high school at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School. Before leaving for college, hopefully at the University of Colorado Boulder, he came to HMG Creative to get a head start in his career path. Originally from Cuero, Texas, Maxx moved to Austin about six years ago and has loved it ever since. He loves having unlimited access to live music, great parks and trails for biking and hiking on nice days. Continue…

Reviewing My Time As An HMG Intern

It’s really hard to believe that my time at HMG is already coming to an end. Time sure does fly by when you are learning as much as I am! Serving as an intern at HMG has proven to be a smart decision and a very valuable experience. Since I am pursuing a degree in public relations as UT Austin, I was looking to gain as much experience in the realm of communications and marketing as possible. Working as a social media and marketing intern has taught me a great deal of knowledge in the professional communications industry.

HMG Welcomes Scott Mise to the Team

HMG Creative is pleased to announce the addition of another cog to their creative machine, Scott Mise. As a formally-trained Graphic Designer (Abilene Christian University) and a self-taught Web Developer, Scott enjoys merging the disciplines to create comprehensive solutions for clients’ needs. With previous agency experience and a constant curiosity for developing web technologies, I’d say he brings a lot to our table. You’ve probably already seen much of Scott’s design work in restaurants and bars around Austin as well as on the web, and we hope you’re ready for more.

In his spare time Scott loves tinkering with Javascript and PHP just to see what’s possible. Also, as an avid Metroplex sports fan you won’t ever be able to pull him away from a game as long as Jerry’s, Cuban’s or Nolan’s teams are playing. Besides being glued to screens, Scott enjoys working or riding on any of his three, two-wheeled vehicles.
