#TeamTuesday – Maxx Wright

He may only be here for a short amount of time, but we still consider him part of the team! HMG Creative would like to introduce our new intern Maxx Wright.

Maxx is entering his senior year of high school at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School. Before leaving for college, hopefully at the University of Colorado Boulder, he came to HMG Creative to get a head start in his career path. Originally from Cuero, Texas, Maxx moved to Austin about six years ago and has loved it ever since. He loves having unlimited access to live music, great parks and trails for biking and hiking on nice days. Continue…

Why Hire HMG Creative?

When it comes to developing and designing a website, there are two options. Hiring a professional agency to handle the coding and upkeep of the website, or doing it yourself with programs already online. It’s great that sites like Squarespace, Wix, Weebly, etc. are around for those who need them but lack the funds for a web developer or time to learn to code. But unfortunately, the DIY websites aren’t the best choice for everyone. Yes, you will be paying more than $20 a month for your site, but if you were to hire a professional, you would have the freedom to create something that fits your company’s personality. Continue…

It’s Time To Say Adieu

This past semester brought about a lot of changes to my life. While most of my friends decided to study abroad for the second semester of their junior year, I chose to stay in Austin, focus on my studies and get an internship. As winter break came to a close and the semester was about to begin, I started to doubt my decision to not go abroad. Did I just miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? Will I regret staying in Austin while my friends travel the world? Taking a deep breath, I dove into second semester with as much optimism as I could.

Howdy Y’all: Meet HMG’s Newest Intern

Hi there! My name is Kate Gothing, and I am the newest social media and marketing intern at HMG Creative. I am overly thrilled to join such an amazing team and learn from each and every one of the team members. Currently, I am entering my senior year as an advertising student at the University of Texas at Austin (wow–how time flies!). I was born and raised in a small town outside of Boston, Massachusetts, but have always dreamed of moving to Texas. Unfortunately, I have not been in Texas for my entire college career. For my freshman year of college, I attended DePaul University in Chicago, as a marketing student. After the Polar Vortex of 2014, I decided it was time to move down south, and soak up some much needed sun. Since transferring to UT Austin my sophomore year, I have not regretted it. I mean who could, in such a great city with amazing queso, tacos and BBQ?

Is Your Website’s Content Readable?

As experienced web developers, we know that the heart of a great website is found in the user experience– the satisfaction that your visitors receive when navigating through the pages on your website. One of the major parts of fulfilling a holistic user experience is the readability of the content on each webpage. It is crucial that the language and visual appearance of the content is easily digestible. If a user cannot comprehend what your organization is trying to communicate, it is not as effective, which can decrease traffic and in the end, lead to a loss in revenue. If you are unsure if your website’s content is readable or not, here are three easy tips to use:
