Ranging from the invention of the Echo and Alexa to selling groceries in a cashier-less brick and mortar store coined Amazon Go, the future of our everyday experiences may sit in the hands of this company. Headquartered in Seattle, Washington with over 40,000 employees, Amazon is the largest employer in the city providing its economy with immeasurable value and its environment with multiple treasured amenities. So, what’s the next step for this booming business? Growth has brought CEO Jeff Bezos and the team to search for a second headquarters location amongst some of the most alluring spots in the US.

As we look back on SXSW 2018, it is hard to ignore some of the most innovative and unique happenings brought to our backyard this March. Activations, celebrities and creators alike flocked to Austin for a week full of events surrounding the industries of technology, music, film, media, marketing and advertising, journalism and much more. Hi! My name is Natalie Matthews and I am ecstatic to begin as the new social media and marketing intern at HMG Creative, this semester. Born and raised in Clear Lake, Texas, I have enjoyed dancing competitively for twelve years with my older sister and traveling alongside the rest of our family in our free time. I am an avid cooking show viewer, occasional chef for one and dedicated consumer of all things sweet. You can often find me making my way around Town Lake while listening to some of my favorite artists, ranging from Frank Sinatra to Katy Perry. I am passionate about empowerment, the alleviation of poverty, education and positive living.

Hello hello, I’m Courtney Bateson, HMG’s new Marketing Coordinator. I am so thrilled that my journey has brought me here, and I can’t wait to dive into this role to give it my all.

Born and raised in the north of England, I’m a lover of all things creative. Traveling, photography and food are my main points of interest and I usually find a way to combine the three in my spare time. I studied Marketing Management at University in Manchester and it was here where I had the opportunity to study abroad. Enticed by the scorching hot summers and the endless supply of BBQ that Texas had to offer, I chose to study at Texas Tech University. Next thing I knew, I was in the high plains of Lubbock, adapting to a new academic system and integrating into a completely different culture. I screamed with excitement when I saw a tumbleweed rolling down the street for the first time – embarrassing, I know.

HMG Creative has a new team member! We would like to introduce Brandon, our newest addition to our web development team, who originally grew up in the Appalachian mountains of Kentucky and migrated to Austin for the opportunities in the Tech Industry.

Brandon started in the Tech world fixing computers for friends and family in High School, which eventually turned into running an IT Services and Web Development business in college. He studied Biology while at the University of Cincinnati but decided to switch career paths into becoming a full-time Web Developer. Having ran several teams and worked in a variety of industries, Brandon has a wealth of technical experience that he’s excited to bring to HMG Creative.

Imagine going on a 100-mile bike ride in the middle of the summer in Wichita Falls, Texas—sounds excruciating, right? That’s exactly what these cyclists are doing in The Hotter’N Hell bike race in order to raise money for children in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Riding 100 miles in one day in the middle of Texas does not compare to the pain and suffering these children go through without proper healthcare.

What’s up? My name is Anna Vehslage and I am thrilled to join the team at HMG Creative as the new Marketing & Social Media intern. I am entering my senior year at the University of Texas at Austin and will graduate in May with a B.S. in Advertising Management and a Certificate in Business Foundations. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, I made my way to Austin in 2014 as a 3rd generation Longhorn. Although the football team has been disappointing, I still have high hopes they will pull it together for my final season as a student #TeamHerman. I will be sad to leave my 40-acre home in nine short months, but I know “What starts here, changes the world.” When I’m not studying or at work, you can find me at pilates just before I scarf down my weekly cheeseburger—I’m all about a balanced diet.

Hello! My name is Alyssa Zucker and I am thrilled to join the HMG Creative team as the new Social Media and Marketing Intern! I am currently a Sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin, studying Public Relations with a minor in English. I am loving every aspect of being a Longhorn. Coming to Texas from my small town of Manhattan Beach, California, I am fully embracing all the amazing culture Austin has to offer. From learning what it means to “Keep Austin Weird,” to eating my way through the city, I am constantly entertained here. While I will miss being walking distance from the beach, I am excited to immerse myself in the Austin lifestyle, even the excruciating summer heat.
